One Kin Roof™ announces A Kindred Village™, an innovative and inclusive co-housing neighborhood that welcomes diversity in our society.
TAMPA, FLORIDA April 12, 2021- One Kin Roof™ is reimagining inclusion™ by actualizing their vision to create a living and learning neighborhood that values inclusion, belonging, and purpose for all people. A Kindred Village™ community will include people of all backgrounds, abilities, and age groups. Imagine a neighborhood where everyone is supporting one another to live their best authentic life.
One Kin Roof™ is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization co-founded by Angela “Angie” Millar and Debby-Shorr Johnson. Moved by the lack of opportunities for their immediate family and many others who are marginalized in society because of their neurodiversity, they took action to build a thriving community to empower all people, especially those who have been excluded from realizing their potential due to a lack of resources, opportunities, and social connections.
In addition to developing an inclusive co-housing neighborhood, One Kin Roof™ provides a variety of social opportunities that empower all people to form caring and meaningful relationships in their communities. One Kin Roof™ is committed to creating awareness and providing education to help people learn about the value of building inclusive neighborhoods.
Dr. Karen Berkman, One Kin Roof™ President of the Board of Directors says, “Imagine a neighborhood of single-family homes with porches in the front so you can say hi to your neighbors as you walk by. Consider a neighborhood where differences are valued, respected, and treasured. Think what it would be like to live in a place where friends are neighbors and neighbors are friends.”
