Corporate Giving

One Kin Roof™ provides a number of unique ways for corporations to give back to the Tampa Bay community, increase employee engagement, and foster meaningful philanthropy with a powerful impact.

Supporting One Kin Roof™ is good for business.

You don't need a huge budget or full marketing team to execute a strong "giving back" campaign. Corporate donations are a great way to generously help One Kin Roof™, your employees, and your community. Most small businesses are able to make charitable donations each year. There are numerous benefits to corporate donations, but here are four that you may want to consider.

Employee Morale

Corporate donations allow companies to take active interests in their own communities and can also lead to a huge boost in employee morale. If a company chooses to make a corporate donation, workplace culture can improve with increased employee involvement and a positive general attitude. According to a 2016 Deloitte study on volunteering, millennials were "twice as likely to rate their corporate culture as very positive" if their company participated in workplace volunteer activities. Employees respect companies that care for their community--it simply makes employees feel good and increases the emotional attachment to their employer.

Increased Marketing

Philanthropic businesses are some of the most powerful in the world. For example, Apple matches employee donations and has donated more than $78 million to charities through 2015. Charitable sponsorship is a great way to do good in your community, while also gaining marketing experience. Donations put your company's name out there, especially if you sponsor some kind of event. One Kin Roof™ is a Tampa Bay organization. Supporting One Kin Roof™ will show your current and future clients that you really care about your business and your community.

Tax Deduction

This is one of the most immediate benefits of corporate donations. You may not instantly see how your contribution benefits your community, but you will quickly notice the tax savings. Of course, businesses shouldn't donate with the sole expectation of financial gain, but there are fiscal rewards for helping One Kin Roof™. Businesses can usually receive tax deductions from sponsoring One Kin Roof™ events, but make sure to follow the rules and go about the process in the right way in order to comply with all tax requirements.

It's Good for Our Community

One Kin Roof™ contributions have numerous benefits, but the most important one is obvious: the joy of giving back to your community. One Kin Roof™ donations help better your community, and the public will notice if a company is making a real effort to improve its surroundings. Your company's donations will have a tremendous impact on building a living and learning neighborhood that values inclusion, belonging, and purpose of those from all backgrounds, abilities, and age groups living and supporting one another. If you choose to donate to One Kin Roof™ you’ll be contributing to the development of attractive and affordable housing options for people with and without disabilities; creating social networking opportunities and activities for residents of the neighborhood and the broader community; and providing awareness and education for people both living in our neighborhood and those in the surrounding communities.

There are many reasons why your company would give to One Kin Roof™, and any reason that motivates you is a good one. Donating to One Kin Roof™ can help change your business and work culture. It can also have a dramatic impact on others. We would be honored if you picked One Kin Roof™ as a cause you believe in and make your community a better place to live. It will definitely be good for business.

One-Time, Monthly, or Annual Donations

Any company can easily donate to One Kin Roof™ with a one-time, monthly, or annual donation using the following payment methods.

  • Checks

  • Debit cards

  • Credit cards

  • Mobile payments

  • Electronic bank transfers

  • PayPal

Matching Gifts

This program rewards employee giving with matching donations.

Generally, the process for receiving matching gifts goes like this:

  1. A supporter makes a contribution to One Kin Roof™.

  2. The donor submits a matching gift request to their employer.

  3. The employer reviews the request.

  4. If it meets the requirements, the matching gift is disbursed by the company.

Fundraising Matches

Is your company hosting an annual marathon or event?

Companies will match the donations of their employees, but also match the amounts that those employees raise for fundraising events like:

  • Marathons

  • Walk-a-thons

  • Cycling races

  • Annual Conferences

  • and more!

Next time you host a corporate fundraising event that requires your participants to solicit pledges or donations from their friends and family members, remind them of fundraising matches for One Kin Roof™.

Community Grant

Is your company looking for ways to give back to your local communities and support the missions that align with your core values? One way to do so is by issuing a grant to One Kin Roof™.

  • What makes a nonprofit eligible to receive a community grant?

    • Most of the time, a nonprofit must be in the same geographic location as the company.

      • One Kin Roof is headquartered in Tampa, Florida.

    • Additionally, the organization’s mission plays a large part in whether or not the grant will be issued.

      • Our mission is to offer an inclusive neighborhood in our community that represents the diversity in our society.

    • Sometimes, we can apply for a grant, but other times, a company like yours will choose which organization will be the recipient.

      • The next time you have an opportunity to offer a grant to your local community, please consider One Kin Roof!

We look forward to discussing any community grant opportunities with you.

Challenge Grants

Challenge grants are essentially community grants with a twist. Instead of just applying for and receiving a grant from a company, a One Kin Roof™ must complete a “challenge” before the funds are released.

Example:

  • A challenge grant of $5,000 might require One Kin Roof™ to raise an initial amount of $5,000 before the company grant is awarded.

  • The “challenge” in question is usually fiscally-based and requires One Kin Roof™ to raise a certain amount of money before a deadline.

When requesting a challenge grant there are three variables that can affect the guidelines of the grant:

  • Timeframe. Some companies may require the challenge to be completed within a few months while others may last the entire year.

  • Donation eligibility. It’s important to note that every donation might not qualify for the challenge grant. For instance, the funds raised from a raffle or charity auction might not count whereas individual donations will.

  • Updates. Challenge grants generally involve regular check-ins with the company to ensure that goals are being met and that One Kin Roof™ is on track.

Payroll Deductions

Payroll deductions answer the call for employees who want to give to One Kin Roof™ in an easy and efficient manner.

  • They are exactly what they sound like: payroll deductions are automatic donations that are directly taken out of an employee’s paycheck.

  • The employee decides how much they would like to donate and how often they would like to make that donation.

Generally, payroll deductions are available for a limited group of nonprofits the company has approved. It is ideal when companies support a similar mission or work in the communities the company resides in.

In-Kind Donations

In-kind donations are given to One Kin Roof™ directly from a company or business.

Instead of donating money or volunteer time, a company will give equipment, products, or goods to One Kin Roof™.

For example:

One Kin Roof might be hosting an event. We’ve sent out all of the invitations, we’ve got great speakers, and the venue is beautiful. But when it comes time to look for decorations, we need help. In-kind donations to the rescue! Asking a local business to donate decorations or other supplies for our event will help make our event a success.

One Kin Roof™ requests in-kind donations in the form of sponsorships. Let’s go back to our fundraising gala example.

Instead of simply asking corporations to provide decorations for our event, we offer them benefits in return.

Sponsorships usually involve the corporations getting to promote their products and services at the event. Depending on how much your company donates, One Kin Roof™ will showcase your company name on your event itinerary, post about your company on social media, or allow you to hand out promotional materials.

This win-win situation gives organizations a much higher chance of receiving donations and can help strengthen corporate/One Kin Roof™ partnerships.

Talent or Service Donations

Service-based donations are essentially volunteer hours given by employees with a specific skill set.

Common examples of service-based donations include:

  • Legal or tax-related advice.

  • IT support.

  • Catering services.

  • Consulting services.

  • And more!

One Kin Roof™ coordinates with companies to determine how much time should be allocated for service-based donations.

Because this branch of corporate philanthropy requires companies and One Kin Roof™ to work closely together, we work especially hard to form positive and meaningful relationships.

“The results of philanthropy are always beyond calculation.”
